Packing notes
How it works
The kit saves time because the box is already the right size. You are not wrapping the work in layers of bubble wrap, then cutting down a carton that almost fits.
1. Measure once
Width, height, and the thickest point — stretcher bars, frame, anything that sticks out. Use the size finder, or pick a named size such as A3 or 30 × 40 cm. Work can be up to 50 mm thick.
2. We cut the foam
Order Small, Medium, or Large. We stock three cartons and cut a cavity in a 100 mm foam pack (two 50 mm faces, each made from 25 mm sheets). The work sits in that cavity. If the piece is thinner than 50 mm, extra padding fills the gap so it cannot bounce in transit.
3. Drop in, tape, and send
Put the work in the cavity, close the carton, tape the seams, and address it to the buyer. Photograph the packed work before it leaves the studio. We currently ship kits within Australia only.
A few studio habits
- Leave glass out of frames if you can. It is heavy and it breaks.
- These kits are for 2D work that fits the box, not sculptures.
- Do not let wet paint or varnish meet the foam. Let the surface cure first.
